Remco Mulder has extensive work experience in risk management and internal controls. Remco currently holds the position of Head of Non Financial Risk Management at Nationale-Nederlanden since July 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Head of Operational Risk Management at the same company from September 2020 to July 2021. Before joining Nationale-Nederlanden, Remco worked at Aegon as the IFRS 17 Program Manager TOM from April 2019 to August 2020. Remco also held the role of Head of Internal Controls at Transamerica from June 2017 to April 2019. From December 2014 to May 2017, Remco worked at Aegon as the Global Senior Compliance and Operations Risk Manager, overseeing risk in American, European, and Asian business units and leading global SOX. Prior to this, they held various roles at AEGON Netherlands NV, including Head of Operational Risk Management, Senior Operational Risk Manager, and Internal Audit Manager. Remco began their career as a Trainee and later became a Senior Staff member at Ey The Hague from January 2005 to August 2009.
Remco Mulder completed a post Master degree in Auditing at the Post Master Rotterdam Erasmus School of Accounting and Assurance (EESA) from 2006 to 2008. Additionally, Remco also pursued a Master / Doctorandus degree in Economics - Accounting and Controlling at Erasmus University Rotterdam, finishing in 2007. In 2023, Remco took part in a program at INSEAD focused on the transition to General Management.
