MacHteld Hoek

Machteld Hoek currently serves as Coördinator en ombudsbemiddelaar and Onderzoeker en ombudsbemiddelaar at De Nationale ombudsman since November 2021. Previously, Machteld held the position of Attorney At Law at Houthoff from April 2018 to October 2021 and worked as an Attorney At Law seconded to the Public Interest Litigation Project at the Nederlands Juristen Comité voor de Mensenrechten (NJCM) during mid-2021. Early career experiences include roles as a Student Employee at Rutgers & Posch and as a Legal Trainee at both Pels Rijcken and Loyens & Loeff. In addition, Machteld was a Mediation Trainee at Dialogue BV. Educational qualifications include a Professional mediator degree from the Centrum voor Conflicthantering, a Professional Education Programme for the Legal Profession from Beroepsopleiding Advocaten, and a Master's degree (LL.M.) in Private Law from Utrecht University. Further studies include attendance at the University of Washington School of Law and language education at Accord Ecole de Langues Paris.
