Nico Arkenbosch

Nico Arkenbosch is a seasoned professional in the fields of law and migration, currently serving as the Coördinator uitgebreide klachtbehandeling veiligheid en migratie and Senior onderzoeker at De Nationale Ombudsman since May 2022. Prior experience includes leadership roles at the Ministerie van Justitie en Veiligheid, where Nico was the Voorzitter and member of the Commissie van Toezicht Detentiecentrum Schiphol from January 2018 to December 2022. Nico's extensive background also encompasses positions as a Gerechtsauditeur at de Centrale Raad van Beroep from October 2006 to April 2022, and as a Rechter-plaatsvervanger at Rechtbank Utrecht from September 2010 to September 2012. Prior to these roles, Nico served as a Beleidsadviseur at de Nederlandse Vereniging voor Rechtspraak (NVvR) and as a Stafjurist at de Immigratie- en Naturalisatiedienst (IND). Nico holds an mr. drs. degree in International Law and Penal Law from Leiden University, attained between 1990 and 1995.
