Eric Schumacher

Eric Schumacher, DO, MBA, SFHM, FACP, has extensive experience in internal medicine and pediatrics, currently serving as the Internal Medicine Hospitalist, Associate Professor of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, and Division Director of Hospital Medicine at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center since 2005. In this role, Eric oversees a large clinical division comprising 125 physicians, 8 advanced practice providers, 11 hospitalist registered nurses, and 10 administrative staff. Additionally, Eric holds positions as Vice Chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine and Associate Division Director at Nationwide Children's Hospital. Eric’s earlier career included a role as a Research and Development Specialist at Aptalis Pharmaceutical Technologies. Academic credentials include an MBA from The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business, a medical degree from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine, and a BA in Chemistry and Spanish from Miami University.
