Nationwide Children's Hospital
Richard Wood currently serves as the Section Chief of the Department of Pediatric Surgery and Chief of the Department of Colorectal and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery at Nationwide Children's Hospital since September 2015. Additionally, Richard Wood is a Professor of Surgery at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, a position held since June 2023. Prior to these roles, Richard Wood was an Honorary Lecturer in Paediatric Surgery at Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital from August 2011 to June 2014. Richard Wood completed a Pediatric Colorectal Fellowship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in 2015, holds a degree in Paediatric Surgery from the University of Cape Town (2011), achieved MRCS in General Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and received education from the University of Stellenbosch (1995-2000) and Grey High School (1990-1994).
