Arminda Gandara has extensive experience in the arts sector, currently serving as the Foundation Grants Manager at Native Arts and Cultures Foundation since May 2024 and as a Grant and Programs Consultant at Colectivo Consulting since February 2021. Previous roles include Public Program Manager at the Honolulu Museum of Art and Museum Educator at Contemporary Arts Museum Houston. Arminda also coordinated the Gaddis Geeslin Gallery at Sam Houston State University, focusing on exhibitions and community education. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Art History and Criticism from The University of Texas at San Antonio and an M1 in Management and Conservation of Contemporary Art from Université Paul Valéry - Montpellier III. Additionally, Arminda holds a Bachelor of Arts in Fine and Studio Arts from Linfield University and has pursued studies in various cultural institutions. Research interests encompass contemporary art, Mexican identity, visual culture, and identity politics.
