Alistair Borchert

Alistair Borchert is a seasoned defense planner currently serving on the International Staff at NATO since January 2019, following a role in the International Military Staff's Cooperative Security Division from July 2015 to June 2018, where leadership involved developing plans and policies for NATO's partner nations. Prior experience includes serving as the Senior Defense Official and Defense Attaché to the Kingdom of Denmark from June 2012 to June 2015, mastering the Defense Attaché System at the Joint Military Attaché School, and organizing operations at U.S. Africa Command as Executive Officer and Human Resources Chief. A former Commanding Officer of USS GONZALEZ, Borchert's extensive Navy career includes various positions, culminating in completing graduate studies at the Naval Postgraduate School and the Norwegian National Defense College, along with earning a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Washington.
