Dirk Pulkowski is an experienced international lawyer and dispute resolution specialist who currently serves as the Deputy Legal Adviser and Deputy Director in the Office of Legal Affairs at NATO HQ in Brussels. In this role, Dirk co-leads a multinational team that provides legal counsel to the Secretary-General and Allies while defending NATO’s legal interests. Previously, Dirk held the position of Senior Legal Counsel at the Permanent Court of Arbitration, where they acted in significant roles in international arbitrations and represented the PCA at various intergovernmental fora. Dirk also practiced law at Sidley Austin LLP and taught international investment law as a lecturer at the Université libre de Bruxelles, contributing to both legal education and practice. Dirk earned a doctorate in law from Ludwig-Maximilians Universität München, graduating summa cum laude.
