Di Tan has a diverse work experience in the fields of scientific affairs, product development, raw material management, and research and development. They have served as the Director of Scientific Affairs for CarnoSyn(R) Brands at Natural Alternatives International, Inc. since October 2018. Prior to that, they held the position of Lead Scientist at the same company from January 2015 to November 2018, where they were responsible for developing new products, coordinating clinical studies, generating publications and presentations, and representing the company at scientific events. Before joining Natural Alternatives International, Di Tan worked as a Raw Material Manager at Natural Alternatives International, where they reviewed and qualified raw materials for nutrition supplements. They also have experience as an Associate Scientist in R&D at Kemin Industries and as an Assistant Manager at the University of Minnesota.
Di Tan completed a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Nutrition Sciences from the University at Buffalo from 1998 to 2000. They then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Food Science from Rutgers University, which was completed from 2004 to 2007. Additionally, during this same period at Rutgers University, they also obtained a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD degree in Food Science and Technology. Following this, Di Tan pursued Post Doctoral Study in Food Science and Technology at the University of Minnesota from 2007 to 2009.
