Avoni Gharde, Ph.D. has a wealth of experience in the textile industry. In 2008, they were elected as School Captain at St. Anne's High School in Fort. In 2012, they served as Throwball Co-ordinator and Coordinator for Exergy 2013 at the Institute Of Chemical Technology. In 2013, they were Overall Event Head, Throwball Event Head, and Co-Head Photographer at the Institute Of Chemical Technology. In 2014, they were an Intern at BASF, where they evaluated performance chemicals in the R&D lab and conducted comparative studies of various classes of softeners, resins, and enzyme applications. In 2016, they served as a Graduate Research Assistant at NC State University, where they worked with Dr. Behnam Pourdeyhimi and Dr. Abhay Joijode on carpet recycled polymers, characterization, additive modifications, and fiber formation. In 2018, they were Vice President at the Materials Research Society. In 2019, they were a Textile Auxiliaries R&D Intern at DyStar, where they identified key opportunities for performance chemicals customers and evaluated and tested water repellent and resin products on fabric substrates. Finally, in 2020 they were a Laboratory Technician at The Nonwovens Institute and an Applications Testing Engineer at Natural Fiber Welding, where they helped develop NFW proprietary and adapt industry standard tests to validate performance across many potential applications.

Avoni Gharde, Ph.D. has a diverse educational background. In 2009, they completed their Junior College at Elphinstone College - Fort, Mumbai in Computer Science. From 2011 to 2015, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Fibres and Textiles Processing Technology from the Institute Of Chemical Technology. In 2015, they began their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) at North Carolina State University in Textile Technology Management & Fiber Polymer Science, which they completed in 2020. In addition to their formal education, Avoni Gharde, Ph.D. has obtained several certifications, including a Doctor of Philosophy in Fiber Polymer Science and a Doctor of Philosophy in Textile Technology & Management from North Carolina State University, Basic Introduction to Materials Testing: Static from Instron, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Training from North Carolina State University, Graduate Certificate - Nonwoven Science and Technology from NC State University Graduate School, and A1 - Spanish Language from Academia de Español, Mumbai.
