Oihana Elizalde

Oihana Elizalde has a diverse and extensive professional background. Oihana began their career in 2004 as the Head of Sales Personal Care at BASF in North America. Oihana then held the role of Director of Technology, North America, leading the company's North American dispersions and resins R&D efforts. Oihana was also the Product Development Manager, North America, leading the product development team's efforts towards commercialization of new emulsion polymers and formulation additives. In addition, Elizalde was the Sr. Scientist and Project Leader, Global Product Development, the Global Innovation Manager, Global Product Development, and the Senior Researcher and Project Leader, Global Polymer Research. In 2019, Elizalde joined Natural Fiber Welding as the Vice President Natural Fiber Welding and General Manager Mirum Business Unit, and later held the role of General Manager Mirum Business Unit.

Oihana Elizalde completed their Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea between 1994 and 1999. Oihana then completed a year of study at the University of Waterloo between 1998 and 1999. In 2003, they completed a research stay at TU Dortmund University. Finally, they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Polymer Chemistry from Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea between 1999 and 2004.
