Scott Whitney

Scott Whitney has extensive experience in information technology, with their most recent role being Vice President of Information Technology at Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage. In this position, they were responsible for managing the company's IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, software and networking platforms, and coordination of third-party systems. Prior to this, Scott held the position of Director of IT Infrastructure at the same company. Scott has also worked at Gaiam as the Director of Information Technology and at CREO Technology as the Senior Director of Business Management Solutions. Additionally, Scott has experience in coaching soccer and has held roles at Standley Lake High School as an Assistant Varsity Soccer Coach and Head JV Soccer Coach. Scott began their career at First Interstate Bank as the Lead Payroll/Accounting professional. Scott has a strong background in financial management applications, business consultancy, and HRIS management.

Scott Whitney holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance from Western Governors University. Prior to this, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in the same field from the same institution. Scott also pursued Computer Science with a minor in Business Administration at Northern Arizona University. Scott completed their secondary education at Independence High School. Alongside their academic qualifications, Scott has obtained multiple certifications, including the Certified Encryption Specialist (ECES) and the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) from EC-Council, the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from ISACA, and the CompTIA A+ certification. Additionally, they have received certifications from various institutions such as Microsoft, (ISC)², and CompTIA. In 2022, Scott became a member of the Sigma Alpha Pi Honor Society, affiliated with The National Society of Leadership and Success, and in 2021, they joined the Omicron Sigma Sigma Honor Society under the Order of the Sword and Shield.
