Cherie Carter

Cherie Carter currently serves as the National Director of Major Gifts at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), a position held since September 2018, and has previously occupied roles including Senior Director and Regional Director within the organization. Prior to NRDC, Cherie was the Director of Individual Giving for the Western Region at the Wildlife Conservation Society from March 2015 to September 2018. Additional experience includes Development Director at CoachArt, Global Fund Program Manager for South Sudan at Population Services International, and a Volunteer Coordinator for HIV/AIDS with the Peace Corps in Ghana. Cherie holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from Cornell University and a Master of Science in International Public Health/International Health, as well as in Global Health, from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
