Marilee Shelton Davenport

Marilee Shelton Davenport currently serves as the Senior Director of Capacity and Collaboration at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) since March 2022. Prior to this role, Marilee held various positions at The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine from 2004 to 2022, including Senior Program Officer for the Boards on Environmental Studies and Toxicology, Chemical Sciences and Technology, and Life Sciences. Marilee also worked as a Program Officer and Research Associate at the National Academy of Sciences from 1999 to 2004 and was an AAAS Mass Media Fellow at CNN in 1999. Marilee obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Pharmacology (Neuropharmacology) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biochemistry from Clemson University.
