Sahana Rao

Sahana Rao is a Staff Attorney at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) since April 2021, having previously held the position of Project Attorney. Prior experience includes serving as an Associate Attorney at Sive, Paget & Riesel from September 2016 to April 2021, where Sahana also worked as a Law Clerk and a Summer Associate. Additional legal experience encompasses a Legal Internship at the Environmental Law & Policy Center and various internships focused on environmental issues, including water resource economics, at organizations such as the Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant and the Center for Neighborhood Technology. Sahana Rao holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) in Environmental Law from New York University School of Law (2013-2016) and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Environmental Science from the University of Pennsylvania (2009-2013). Education was preceded by high school at William Fremd High School (2005-2009).
