Anantha Peramuna, PhD, has a diverse work experience that includes founding and leading Nature Preserve, a sustainability-centered tech startup focused on managing products efficiently and reducing carbon footprints in the agrifood industry. Anantha strongly believes in creating a world where agrifood companies can deliver profits while also addressing the issue of GHG emissions, which account for one-third of global emissions. Prior to their entrepreneurial venture, Anantha worked as a PHD Fellow at DTU Bioengineering from February 2015 to May 2018. Before that, they served as a Research Associate at California State University, Northridge from July 2013 to January 2015.

Anantha Peramuna, PhD, has an educational background that spans over a decade. In 2010, Peramuna obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from California State University, Northridge. Continuing their studies, from 2010 to 2013, they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree at the same institution, specializing in Microbiology and Biofuels. Subsequently, Peramuna pursued further education, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biotechnology from DTU - Technical University of Denmark from 2015 to 2018.
