Paula Jauregui Onieva

Paula Jauregui Onieva currently serves as a Senior Editor at Nature Portfolio since January 2024. Prior to this role, Paula held various editorial positions at the Public Library of Science (PLOS), including Senior Editor and Microbiology and Immunology Editor for PLOS Biology from September 2020 to November 2023. Experience also includes serving as an Associate Editor focused on Virology at Nature Microbiology from October 2019 to September 2020. Academic qualifications comprise a Doctor of Philosophy in Biotechnology from Instituto de Agrobiotecnología-CSIC-UPNA, along with a Master of Science in Biotechnology from Universidad Pública de Navarra and a background in Biology and Biochemistry from the University of Navarra. Paula has also contributed to research as a Senior Postdoctoral Fellow at Medical University Innsbruck and a Postdoctoral Fellow at New York University, along with an earlier tenure as a PhD Student at CSIC and a Visiting PhD Scholar at University College London.
