Susan Allison is currently a Consulting Editor at Nature and was formerly the Chief Editor of Nature Reviews Nephrology at Nature Publishing Group. They worked as a Writer for the Journal of the Australian Medical Association in 2005 and served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Lund University from 2006 to 2008, focusing on neurotrophins and inflammation in neurogenesis. Susan earned a PhD in 2006 from UNSW Australia, studying the control of bone formation by neuropeptide Y receptors, and holds a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry from the University of Otago.
