Carl Nordman is a seasoned Vegetation Ecologist with over two decades of experience in plant ecology and conservation, currently working at NatureServe since 2001. Responsibilities include conducting vegetation data collection across the southeastern US, managing vegetation inventory projects, and collaborating on ecological analyses and rare plant initiatives. Prior roles include Botanist for the Tennessee Department of Environment & Conservation, where Carl maintained data on rare plants and led field inventories, and positions at the Florida Natural Areas Inventory, State of North Carolina, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, focusing on natural community surveys, rare species inventory, and conservation efforts. Carl holds a Master of Geospatial Information Science and Technology and a Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Science from North Carolina State University, along with a Bachelor of Science in Botany from the University of Michigan.
