From 1987 to 1990, they studied Mathematics and Computer Science at Adams State University but did not obtain a degree. Karen then went on to complete a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Colorado State University from 2012 to 2016. In addition to their degrees, they also obtained certifications in Applied Finance from Colorado State University in March 2016 and in Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from Lockheed Martin in September 2004.
