Yuwei Liao

Yuwei Liao is a highly experienced data scientist currently serving as a Senior Staff Data Scientist at Nauto since November 2018, where expertise in AI technology focuses on enhancing safety and operational excellence for commercial fleets. Prior to Nauto, Yuwei worked at Intel Corporation from October 2016 to October 2018, progressing from Senior Data Scientist to Staff Data Scientist, contributing to the development of algorithms for sensor and wearable applications in sports. An internship as an Algorithm Engineer at Spry Health involved research on improving physiological signal estimation using machine learning. Yuwei's academic background includes a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University, where significant research tools were developed to aid paralyzed patients through Functional Electrical Stimulation neuroprostheses, as well as early research experiences at National Taiwan University, focusing on human attention and robotics.
