Ivo Gonçalves

Ivo Gonçalves is an Air Traffic Controller Trainee at NAV PORTUGAL EPE since March 2023. With extensive involvement in the scientific community, Ivo has served as a volunteer collaborator at Braga Science Center since November 2016, where activities include monitoring astronomical observations and organizing science outreach events. As a science monitor and member of the Fiscal Council at ORION - Sociedade Científica de Astronomia do Minho since July 2014, Ivo contributes to astronomy education. Previous roles include a laboratory assistant at Instituto Superior Técnico, managing the Laboratory of Machining and Micro Manufacturing, and an engineering consultant at Firstfield, where responsibilities included project development and web design. Ivo held the position of vice-director of the astronomy department at Núcleo de Física do Instituto Superior Técnico, promoting outreach activities in astronomy. Ivo Gonçalves holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Sciences - Mechanical Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, along with a high school diploma in Science and Technology from Escola Secundária D. Maria II.
