Vern Lund

Vern Lund has extensive experience in the coal industry, with a career spanning over 20 years. Vern is currently the Chief Executive Officer at Navajo Transitional Energy Company, LLC, a position they have held since February 2022. Prior to this, Vern served as the Vice President of Commercial and Operations at the same company from February 2021 to February 2022.

Before joining Navajo Transitional Energy Company, Vern worked at The North American Coal Corporation, where they held the role of Vice President of Engineering & Business Development from March 2017 to February 2021. Vern also served as the President of Liberty Fuels Company, a subsidiary of The North American Coal Corporation, from March 2011 to March 2017.

Vern's earlier experience includes working at North American Coal, Falkirk Mining Company, where they were the Vice President of Operations from March 2010 to March 2011. Vern also held the position of Manager of Operations & Engineering at North American Coal from October 2000 to March 2010.

Vern Lund completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from North Dakota State University, from 1991 to 1996. Vern then pursued a Masters degree in Business Administration from Auburn University Harbert College of Business, from 2006 to 2008. Recently, in 2021, they participated in the Advanced Management Program (AMP 79) at The Wharton School, specializing in Business Administration and Management.
