Damien Laval

Damien Laval, Ph.D., is a seasoned expert in research and development, currently serving as the Responsable recherche et développement at NAVAL GROUP since September 2016. With a comprehensive portfolio that includes managing teams and overseeing large R&D projects focused on multi-physics simulation and advanced system engineering, Damien has also held roles as Deputy CTO in System Engineering and Learning/Training simulators, Chief Scientific Computation Officer, and Deputy CTO on hydrodynamics. Prior experience includes positions as Project Leader in Process Improvement and Research Engineer at Naval Group, and Research Engineer at EDF, specializing in electromagnetism and thermal issues. Holding multiple degrees in applied mathematics and mechanical engineering from Université de Bordeaux and ENSEIRB-MATMECA, Damien possesses a strong foundation in mathematical and computational methods, including a Ph.D. focusing on electromagnetic diffraction.
