David Bates has extensive experience in the military and engineering sectors, currently serving as the In Service Submarines Branch Head - Auxiliary Systems at NAVSEA since November 2010. Prior roles at NAVSEA include Senior Systems Engineer, Systems Engineer, and Engineering Technician for In Service Submarines. Prior to NAVSEA, David Bates worked as an Operations Manager at Dell Services for a brief period and served in the US Navy from September 1988 to June 2010, attaining the rank of Machinist Mate Senior Chief (Nuclear) and holding various leadership positions including Leading Chief Petty Officer and Shop Supervisor. David Bates earned a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Nuclear Engineering Technology/Technician from Thomas Edison State University between 2002 and 2004, and completed high school at Plugerville High School.
