Tom Monk

Tom Monk has over 15 years of work experience in the technology industry. Tom started their career as a Junior Oracle DBA at Guardian News & Media in 2005. Tom then transitioned to Maxima Plc and worked as an Oracle Applications DBA. In 2007, they joined CSC as a Senior Oracle Applications DBA and later became the Lead Oracle Applications DBA. During their time at CSC, they were involved in various ERP projects and played a key role in implementing high availability and disaster recovery solutions. In 2013, Tom joined HCL AXON as an Oracle Technical Architect, where they implemented the first phase of a global Oracle rollout. Tom then joined clckwrk in 2015, a professional services provider focused on Oracle workloads on AWS, where they held multiple roles and led the pre-sales solution architecture team in EMEA. Most recently, Tom has been working at Navisite as a Director, first overseeing solution architects in EMEA and then transitioning to a role as a Senior Director of Product and EMEA Solution Architecture, responsible for product management and service definition. Throughout their career, Tom has demonstrated expertise in database administration, technical architecture, ERP implementation, and product management.

Tom Monk completed their Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a focus on Information Technology from the University of Essex between 2002 and 2005. Tom also obtained two certifications from Amazon Web Services: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate in September 2016 and AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional in September 2017.
