Ian Ramsay

Ian leads the United Kingdom business unit, currently progressing the development of the greenfield Sea Lion Development in the North Falklands basin and nearby surrounding prospects. Prior to this Ian was Vice President for Murphy Oil Corporation and led the corporations Global Offshore Development Portfolio from Discovery through to Production, most recently, the new build King’s Quay FPS Host Facility and Khaleesi Mormont and Samurai Subsea developments.

He has over 30 years of experience in managing oil and gas operations and delivering new developments with an independent execution mind set. Ian graduated from Napier University, Edinburgh with a BEng (Hons) in Engineering with Management and from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh with a MSc. in Subsea and Petroleum Engineering. He has gained a broad perspective of the industry having worked with Super Majors, Independent Oil Companies and EPC Contractors in a diverse range of international locations during his career.
