Laurel Kelso

Chief Clinical Officer at NAVOS

Laurel Kelso has a range of work experience in the mental health field. From 2019 onwards, they served as the Chief Clinical Officer at Navos Mental Health Solutions, overseeing various outpatient programs for individuals of all ages with behavioral and substance use disorders. They also had responsibilities related to residential services.

Prior to this role, Laurel Kelso worked at Western State Hospital starting in 2003. From 2012 to 2019, they held the position of Center Director, overseeing several inpatient involuntary treatment psychiatric wards with a large patient and staff population. This role involved collaboration with discipline directors, direct clinical and operational supervision, and overall operational oversight. From 2006 to 2019, they also served as the Director of Social Work at the hospital, leading a team of approximately 70 social work staff. Additionally, Laurel Kelso held positions as a Discharge Coordinator and Social Worker during their early years at Western State Hospital.

Laurel Kelso attended Syracuse University for an unspecified period of time, but did not complete a degree or specify a field of study. Later, Laurel pursued a Masters of Social work degree, specializing in Social Work, from both the University of Wyoming and Syracuse University. In October 2003, Laurel obtained a certification in Licensed Clinical Social Work from the WA Department of Health.
