Alison Brown

President/CEO at NAVSYS Corporation

Alison Brown has a diverse work experience spanning several decades. Alison is currently a Member of the Defense Science Board, a position they have held since February 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Member of the National Academy of Engineering starting in February 2020. In 1986, they became the President/CEO of NAVSYS Corporation, a role they still hold. Alison has also taken on various leadership positions, including Director of the Salida Business Incubator since January 2014 and Director of the Tri-Lakes Business Incubator since 2008. Alison has contributed to the RMC Small Business Committee at NDIA from 2008 to 2010. Additionally, Alison has worked as a Consultant for the Institute of Defense Analysis from 1998 to 2005 and served as a Member of the Air Force Science Advisory Board from 1994 to 2003. Alison'searly career includes being a Systems Engineer at Litton from 1981 to 1986.

Alison Brown has an extensive education history. Alison began their academic journey at the University of Cambridge from 1976 to 1979, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, earning their MA. Following this, they attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1980 to 1981, where they obtained a Master of Science (SM) degree in Aero Astro. Alison then continued their studies at UCLA from 1982 to 1985, where they completed their PhD in Mechanics and Aerospace.
