NAYA Family Center
Donita Fry serves as the Portland Youth and Elders Council Coordinator at both the Native American Youth and Family Center and NAYA Family Center since September 2005. In this role, Donita leads a grassroots community advocacy group focused on cultural sharing and education within the Portland Native American community. With extensive experience in organizational involvement, Donita advocates for Native American peoples through various programs and councils, including serving as Chairwoman for the City of Portland Human Rights Commission and participating in multiple advisory groups. Donita is also a trained facilitator for intergroup dialogues on race and racism and conducts cultural competency training in partnership with local organizations. Educational background includes attendance at Washington State University from 1979 to 1983.

NAYA Family Center's mission is "to enhance the diverse strengths of our youth and families in partnership with the community through cultural identity and education." The Native American Youth and Family Center in Portland, Oregon, works to enrich the lives of our Native youth and families through education, community involvement, and culturally specific programming. We have provided educational services, cultural arts programming, and direct support to reduce poverty to the Portland metropolitan area's American Indian and Alaska Native community for over 40 years.
