Akshay Vats

Akshay Vats has extensive work experience in the oil and energy industry. Akshay started their career as an Oil Trader at HPCL in 2004 and worked there until 2007. Akshay then joined Essar Oil Limited as a Senior Risk Manager in 2007 and held that role until 2013. Following that, they became the Joint General Manager - Risk Management at Nayara Energy (formerly Essar Oil Limited) from 2013 to the present. Currently, Akshay Vats is working as the General Manager and Risk Management Lead at Nayara Energy, starting from September 2021.

Akshay Vats completed their undergraduate studies in Mathematics (Hons.) at St. Stephen's College, Delhi in 2002. Akshay then pursued further education with the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP), specializing in Energy Risk. In 2004, Akshay obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in International Business and Finance from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade.
