Greg Macdonald has a diverse work history spanning several decades. Greg started their career in 1983 as a Marine Engineering Officer in the Royal New Zealand Navy, where they held various positions and was responsible for training subordinates, managing maintenance, and overseeing the marine engineering department. In 1998, they transitioned to the role of Industrial and Marine Compliance Inspector at Marine & Industrial Safety Inspection Services until 2001. At Apollo Projects Ltd, starting in 2001, Greg held the position of Senior Project Manager, overseeing projects ranging from $500k to $5M. Greg'sresponsibilities in this role included all aspects of project management, from concept design to code compliance. Most recently, Greg joined Naylor Love in 2022 as a Project Manager.

Greg Macdonald attended Otago Boys' High School from 1978 to 1982, where they obtained their University Entrance accreditation. Following this, they enrolled at the Central Institute of Technology from 1985 to 1986 and earned a degree in NZCE - Power & Plant, specializing in Mechanical Engineering.
