Ian Mckie

General Manager, Preconstruction at Naylor Love

Ian has worked for Naylor Love for more than 25 years, first as a Boilermaker, then as a Quantity Surveyor, then as a Project Manager. As a Project Manager he was involved in a number of significant projects in Dunedin, including the award-winning University of Otago Information Services Building. He transferred to Auckland to oversee new-build and refurbishment projects for The Warehouse throughout the North Island as part of a The Warehouse / Naylor Love (TWNL) joint venture.

Ian was appointed as Director of Naylor Love Dunedin in 2005, a position he held until he was named our General Manager – Preconstruction in June 2019. In this newly-created role he uses his considerable construction, project management, commercial and business management expertise to support Naylor Love’s pre-construction teams throughout New Zealand. Focusing particularly on complex design & build and ECI projects, Ian enjoys the challenge of getting projects up and running for the construction team.
