Sandy Giammona

Director Nursing Program at Nazarbayev University

Sandy Giammona has a diverse work experience in various roles and positions. They started their career as an ICU nurse at Maria Eleonora Hospital in 1994 and worked there until 1997. In 1998, they joined ISMETT as a Coordinator of Nursing Education and held that position until 2011. Sandy then took on the role of Coordinator of Nursing Education and Research at ISMETT from 2013 onwards. In 2016, they became the Director of the Nursing Program at Nazarbayev University. Sandy then joined UPMC International Services in 2017 as the Director of Clinical Operations and Education. In 2020, they transitioned to UPMC International as the Senior Director of International Clinical Operations, Education, and Associate Country Manager for Kazakhstan. Currently, Sandy holds the position of Vice President of International Clinical Operations and Managing Director of Kazakhstan at UPMC since 2023.

Sandy Giammona obtained a Certificate in Nursing Research from the University of Pittsburgh from 2013 to 2015. Prior to that, they completed a Laurea Magistrale in Scienze Infermieristiche ed Ostetriche at Università degli Studi di Palermo from 2010 to 2012. Sandy also has additional certifications including a Certificate in Nursing Research and is a registered nurse with Life Support: BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
