Dawn Smyth

Dawn Smyth serves as the Associate Vice President and Head of International Youth Development for the National Basketball Association (NBA) since November 2019, where leadership extends to the International Youth Development Team. In parallel, Dawn Smyth is a member of the Youth Basketball Committee for FIBA Americas, contributing to basketball development across the region. As the owner of Smyth Coaching & Consulting, services focus on contracts and consulting related to coaching, education, and sports development in basketball and other sports since December 2014. Previously, from March 2012 to July 2019, Dawn Smyth held the role of Director of Domestic Development at Canada Basketball, overseeing player, coach, and official development. Additional experience includes various coaching and teaching positions at Red Deer College, Camosun College, and the University of Ottawa, cumulatively enriching expertise in the education and development of athletes. Education credentials include a B.Sc in Kinesiology from the University of Ottawa, as well as multiple coaching certifications and degrees in sports marketing and coaching studies.
