Jessica Johnson, MPH, currently serves as a Patient Experience Coordinator and Perinatal Health Strategic Plan Coordinator at the NC Department of Health and Human Services since June 2021. Previously, Jessica worked at the Alamance County Health Department from September 2016 to June 2021 as a Human Services Planner/Evaluator, managing the Infant Mortality Reduction Program and implementing various health initiatives. Prior experience includes serving as a Lead Parents as Teachers Educator and Bilingual Parent Educator at Alamance Partnership for Children from October 2008 to September 2016, as well as an International Intern with Campus Crusade for Christ from September 2005 to November 2007. Jessica holds a Master's degree in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Arts in Romance Languages (Spanish) and Latin American Studies from the same institution.

The Department of Health and Human Services manages the delivery of health- and human-related services for all North Carolinians, especially our most vulnerable citizens – children, elderly, disabled and low-income families. NCDHHS also oversees 14 facilities: developmental centers, neuro-medical treatment centers, psychiatric hospitals, alcohol and drug abuse treatment centers, and two residential programs for children.
