Saarah Waleed

Saarah Waleed, LCMHC, NCC, currently serves as Chief Clinical Officer at the NC Department of Health and Human Services since April 2023, with prior roles including Director of Mental Health/Substance Use and Justice Involved Programs/Policy, and Assistant Director. Experience in leadership positions extends back to October 2020 with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services as Community Mental Health Section Chief. Previous roles include Chief Program Officer, Vice President of Behavioral Health Services, and Director of Addictions Treatment Services at Villa of Hope from January 2014 to July 2020, and Associate Director, among other titles at Catholic Family Center from 2004 to 2014. Earlier career stages included positions at Catt. County Council on Alcohol/Sub and YWCA, Bradford, PA. Saarah Waleed holds a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from SUNY Brockport, a Bachelor’s degree in Counseling from the State University of New York Empire State College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Karachi University.
