Zoe Shipley

Zoe Shipley currently serves as a Student Survey Analyst at the NC Department of Health and Human Services, where responsibilities include survey design, analysis, and communication, along with engaging external partners. Previously, Zoe interned with the Evaluation Team at NC Medicaid, compiling deliverables and collaborating on fact sheets to enhance health care for beneficiaries. In addition, Zoe works as a Research Associate for Gen-Z for Change, focusing on activism-driven research and content creation for social media. As President of the American Mock World Health Organization, Zoe leads organizational communication, team management, and conference planning. Zoe's involvement in health-related initiatives extends to various leadership positions at UNC Chapel Hill, including roles in the UNC Health Careers Club and as an instructor at AR Workshop®. Zoe is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with an expected graduation in May 2024.

The Department of Health and Human Services manages the delivery of health- and human-related services for all North Carolinians, especially our most vulnerable citizens – children, elderly, disabled and low-income families. The Department works closely with health care professionals, community leaders and advocacy groups; local, state and federal entities; and many other stakeholders to make this happen. The Department is divided into 30 divisions and offices. NCDHHS divisions and offices fall under four broad service areas - health, human services, administrative, and support functions. NCDHHS also oversees 14 facilities: developmental centers, neuro-medical treatment centers, psychiatric hospitals, alcohol and drug abuse treatment centers, and two residential programs for children.
