Margaret Hartzell

Margaret Hartzell is an experienced legislative assistant currently working for the North Carolina General Assembly as a Legislative Assistant for Representative Lindsey Prather since January 2023. Previously, Hartzell held the same position for Representative Rachel Hunt from May 2021 to December 2022. Prior to these roles, Hartzell served as Deputy Finance Director for the North Carolina Democratic Party and as Director of Development for the North Carolina League of Conservation Voters. Additional experience includes serving as Individual Giving Director for Girl Scouts - North Carolina Coastal Pines and Annual Programs Manager at Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities, overseeing annual giving and outreach initiatives. Earlier in the career, Hartzell worked as a Policy Advocate and Events and Outreach Coordinator for Environment North Carolina, successfully executing legislative advocacy efforts. Educational background includes attendance at the University of New Hampshire.
