Sonalde Desai

Sonalde Desai is a Professor of Sociology at the University of Maryland where Sonalde has been offering courses in demography and development, as well as advising MA and Ph.D students. Sonalde also conducts research on human development in India at NCAER. Prior to their current position, Sonalde held roles at The Population Council and RAND Corporation, focusing on research in gender and population, as well as labor and population. Desai holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from Stanford University.
