Erik Schilling, PhD, is currently the Director of Eastern Sustainable Forestry at the National Council for Air and Stream Improvement, Inc., a position they have held since 2024. Previously, Erik served as the Director of Forestry Research for the Southeastern U.S. at NCASI, Inc. from 2018 to 2024 and as a Senior Research Scientist at the same organization from 2005 to 2018. Erik’s academic involvement includes serving as Affiliate Faculty at Virginia Tech since 2009 and at Auburn University previously. Erik earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Forestry from Auburn University in 2002 and also holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Delaware.
