Dr. Melissa Perkins Cfre

Dr. Melissa Perkins, CFRE has a diverse work experience in the field of philanthropy and institutional advancement. Dr. Melissa most recently served as the Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships at NCCER starting in April 2023. Prior to that, they were the Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Gulliver Preparatory School from May 2021 to April 2023.

Before joining Gulliver Preparatory School, Dr. Perkins held leadership roles at Girl Scouts of Connecticut, including Chief Marketing and Revenue Officer from September 2020 to May 2021 and Chief External Relations Officer from June 2019 to September 2020.

Dr. Melissa'sextensive experience in institutional advancement also includes positions at Pomfret School, where they served as the Assistant Head of School for Institutional Advancement from August 2018 to June 2019. Dr. Melissa was also the Director of Advancement & Communications from July 2013 to August 2018, Director of Leadership Gifts from July 2010 to June 2013, Associate Director of the Annual Fund from July 2008 to June 2010, and Assistant Director of the Annual Fund from March 2007 to June 2008.

Additionally, Dr. Perkins has contributed to the field as a Faculty member at Annual Giving Network in November 2017.

Dr. Melissa Perkins, CFRE, holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in History from the University of Maryland. Dr. Melissa also obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Nonprofit Management and a Doctor of Public Administration degree in Public Policy and Administration, both from Walden University. In addition to their formal education, Dr. Perkins has also obtained certifications in Doctoral Student Researchers from the CITI Program in August 2021 and CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) from CFRE International in March 2014.
