Marcus Abernethy

Marcus Abernethy is an experienced public administration professional with a comprehensive background in municipal management, energy efficiency, and community services. Currently serving as a Business Services Consultant at the NC League of Municipalities since January 2020, Marcus engages with elected officials, communicates the value of league services, and participates in community conferences. Previous roles include Energy Efficiency Specialist at the North Carolina Rural Water Association, Town Manager in Mocksville, and City Manager in Hamlet, where responsibilities encompassed employee management, budget preparation, and service contract negotiations.
