Jacob Goodwin is an experienced educator and community leader, currently serving as a Social Studies Educator at Exeter Cooperative Middle School since August 2015, where efforts focus on engaging young civic leaders and fostering environmental stewardship. Jacob co-created an innovative outdoor emergent style class, Forest Folks, for sixth-grade students, promoting nature-based learning. Additionally, as the founder and advisor of the Debate Team, Jacob supports student voices through debate and deliberation. As a co-founder of the Grassroots Education Movement and a long-time member of the NEA, Jacob advocates for public education and community service. Previous roles include social studies educator at Gilmanton School, assistant facilitator with the Civic Education Project, and corps member with City Year. Jacob holds multiple degrees, including a Master of Education and a Master of Arts in Political Science, alongside a Post-Masters Certificate in School Leadership.
