Jim Testerman has a diverse work experience that spans several decades. Jim began their career as a Teacher at Central York School District in 1985 and held this position until 1999. Jim then joined PSEA (Pennsylvania State Education Association), where they served in various leadership roles, including Treasurer from 1999 to 2003, Vice President from 2003 to 2007, and President from 2007 to 2011. In 2011, they transitioned to NEA (National Education Association), where they initially served as the Director of Collective Bargaining and Member Advocacy until 2012. From 2012 onwards, they took on the role of Senior Director for the Center for Organizing. Recently, they were promoted to the position of Chief of Operations and Risk Management at NEA in October 2021.
Jim Testerman's education history includes a Quality Schools Trainer certification from Penn State University in 1993, a Master of Education degree in Counseling from Millersville University of Pennsylvania from 1986 to 1989, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Elizabethtown College from 1980 to 1984.
