Justin Thompson

Justin Thompson is a seasoned education policy professional currently serving as a Senior Policy Analyst/Program Specialist at the National Education Association (NEA) since December 2019. In this role, Justin leads policy engagement on critical issues such as STEM, climate and environmental justice, and digital equity while liaising with the Environmental Protection Agency and supporting NEA leadership in various initiatives. Previously, Justin held positions at the Council of Chief State School Officers and the Data Quality Campaign, focusing on career readiness and education data legislation. Justin began a career in education as a math teacher at H Grady Spruce High School, where curriculum development and student engagement were notable achievements. Justin holds a Master of Public Affairs from the LBJ School of Public Affairs and a Master of Education from Southern Methodist University, complemented by a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Information Sciences from The University of Alabama.
