Mary Ellen Flannery is an experienced journalist and senior writer/editor at the National Education Association since 2004. Prior to this role, Flannery worked as a reporter for the Miami Herald from 2003 to 2004, and for The Palm Beach Post from 1997 to 2003. Flannery began a career in journalism at The Stuart News, serving as a reporter from 1995 to 1997. Flannery holds a Master of Arts in Journalism from Northwestern University, which was obtained between 1993 and 1995, and a degree from Georgetown University, attended from 1989 to 1993. Flannery’s foundational education was completed at Loomis Chaffee.
