Near FM is a not for profit, multimedia centre that encourage groups to use community media as a tool in their development work and aims to reflect the issues, events and stories important in the local area. We target our training and outreach particularly at those in society under-represented in mainstream media such as young people, migrants, senior citizens, LGBTI+, people with disabilities and women. We operate an open access policy and run regular training courses for individuals and groups. We specialize in radio, podcast and TV production.

Our radio content is recognized internationally with multiple awards and commendations from festivals including the New York Radio Awards, Celtic Media Awards and Prix Europa. Our radio programme schedule consists of talk programming, audio drama, and a diverse range of music shows.

Our podcast work includes producing series for clients including The Irish Foster Care Association, Tallaght Drugs and Alcohol Taskforce, Aoibhneas and the Prevention and Early Intervention Network.

Our TV productions broadcast on Dublin Community TV and we have had multiple project commissions from Coimisiún Na Mean Sound and Vision scheme.

Please get in touch to talk to us about Media consultancy, Studio rental, Podcast production or Outside broadcast.
