Senior DevRel Engineer at NEAR Protocol

Guillermo Gallardo has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Guillermo started their career as a Lead Software Engineer at Fedetur in 2013 and continued until 2015. In 2015, they joined Inria as a Doctoral Candidate, where they developed statistical models and machine learning methods to study the human brain. Guillermo made significant contributions in this field, publishing in top journals and conferences and winning awards for their presentations.

In 2019, Guillermo became a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences. Here, they led multidisciplinary projects, supervised students, and collaborated with renowned institutions. Guillermo also developed efficient workflows using modern machine learning and image processing techniques to study thousands of brains. Guillermo held this position until 2021 when they joined QMENTA Inc as an Applied Research Engineer. At QMENTA, they translated state-of-the-art research into software for major healthcare organizations and provided personalized software solutions based on user needs. Guillermo also supported the sales team in engaging with customers throughout the sales process.

Currently, Guillermo is working at NEAR Protocol as a Senior DevRel Engineer, a role they started in 2023. Prior to this, they were a DevRel Engineer at the same company from 2022 to 2023, where they led projects, built CLI quick start tools, and developed multiple apps and web services. Before that, from 2020 to 2022, they served as an Ecosystem Contributor at NEAR Protocol.

Overall, Guillermo has proven expertise in software engineering, research, and development in various domains, including neuroscience, machine learning, and image processing.

Guillermo Gallardo pursued their education at the University of Buenos Aires from 2009 to 2015, where they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science. Following this, they enrolled at Université Côte d'Azur for their doctoral studies in Neuroscience from 2015 to 2018, ultimately earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree.
