Michael Hills has a strong background in software engineering, with experience in multiple companies and roles. Michael started their career at Ryarc Media Systems in 2008 as a Software Development Engineer, where they tested digital signage software and developed a non-stuttering news ticker. Michael then worked as a Casual Tutor at the University of New South Wales, where they taught first-year engineering students the basics of computing through C programming language.
In 2010, Hills joined Open Kernel Labs, Inc. as an Engineer. Here, they focused on projects involving paravirtualized Android systems and developed a virtualized execution environment. Michael'sresponsibilities included power management, audio routing, device driver development, debugging, and hypervisor development.
From 2012 to 2014, Hills worked at Posse as a Software Engineer, where they had a wide range of responsibilities, including web frontend development, backend design and development, iOS app development, and server management. Michael also trained and managed a new development team in Manila, Philippines.
Hills then worked at First Order as a Software Engineer from 2014 to 2016. Here, they helped businesses design and build technology stacks, focusing on web frontend/backend, mobile apps, and data collection for analytics.
In 2016, Hills joined Lexy.io as a Software Engineer, where they developed software solutions and worked until 2018.
In 2018, Hills joined Martin IT as a Senior Developer, where they contributed to development projects until 2019.
Most recently, Hills has been working as a Senior Software Engineer at Neara since 2019.
Michael Hills attended UNSW from 2006 to 2009, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering. Michael has also earned additional certifications: "Functional Programming Principles in Scala" from Coursera in June 2014 and "Machine Learning" from Coursera in July 2013.
